Tom Brignell is a Senior Expert at IMIG, specialising in process, manufacturing, and industrialisation engineering. He supports clients with layout optimisation, process efficiency, capacity analysis, and internal logistics, including material handling solutions using PFEP and related tools.

His core expertise includes process engineering, lean manufacturing, workflow optimisation, and capacity analysis. He primarily works in the automotive and industrial sectors.

Since joining IMIG, Tom has led several high-impact initiatives, including validating an engineering improvement plan and capacity glide path that supported a critical operational turnaround, helping to prevent a client from entering administration. He developed an optimised layout that enabled a facility consolidation, cutting total footprint and related costs nearly in half. He also contributed to the development of a bespoke MES system, which delivered real-time production data and drove a 30% improvement in OEE.

Before joining IMIG, Tom was a Process Engineer at WIPAC, where he focused on manufacturing process development and improvement. In a key project, he oversaw the integration of a new production cell that doubled company output, managing equipment specification, commissioning, layout design, and customer approval, before leading the successful relocation and recommissioning of the equipment at its new site.

Tom holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds.
